Hayward’s Civil War, April 14

On Thursday, April 14, hear the personal war stories of Ambrose Henry Hayward, a 21 year-old from Philadelphia, member of the 28th Pennsylvania (in Geary’s ‘White Star Division’). Howard vividly details his role in dozens of battles, including Antietam, Gettysburg and Chancellorsville. His letters are kept in Gettysburg College’s Special Collection. The stories are presented by Professor Tim Orr, who will also autograph books after his lecture, which is open to the public and free, 7.00 p.m. at the Civil War Institute, 300 North Washington Street, College Union Building (Room 260), Gettysburg.
